i KNOW!! it's scary. we drove around Concord over the weekend looking at land for sale... OMG!!! i was afraid to get out of the car in some places for fear i'd be kidnapped & used for breedin'

I saw this disaster movie and what bugged me the most was how the people simply did not look cold. No smokey breath, no huddling, no faces tense with freezer pain. I've lived in California a long time, but I do remember why I left Boston.

To confirm my observation I saw Quaid actor on TV saying how uncomfortably hot he was acting agains a blue screen in Greenland outfits, while the crew wore T-shirts and shorts.

And they just kept talking about the weather, so shallow.

Right after I got home from seeing this, HBO was having one of their "the making of" shows...and it happened to be of this movie.

Showed how they did all the special effects...created and destroyed NYC and LA....very cool.

Don't want to give up too much info, even though it is a spoilers thread, but it was real cool.
