I don't think he did.. I think he played pretty smart:
Putting up Maggie and anyone else from that side would have further alienated him and Rachel from any future alliance later. And he would only (at this point) have Sarah, James, and Janelle as their "team". However, putting James and Sarah up- he guarantees that James will be gone( if he doesn't win PoV), eliminating later competition- James IS a strong player. It also gained respect from the "other" side, so that he and Rachel have options. Should Eric come back, (that is SO iffy), Howie has the security in knowing that as "noble" as Eric is, he would continue to keep Howie and Rachel safe for keeping Maggie safe. And if Kayser comes back, I'm sure that the 4 of them (Janie, Kayser, Howie & Rach) will once again become a powerful 4some.
Poor Sarah. She's pretty much screwed... She hasn't made any attempt to make friends with anyone except for Howie, Janelle and Rachel--who she was 'betrayed' by..
I think Howie played it smart. James was everyone's worst enemy... and I really didn't like that he swore on the bible, then later renigged, blaming it on circumstances. That was BS.. He's dirty and would play til the end coniving and lying He just LOOKS sneaky.

but what if.... just what if... Eric WERE to come back... that side is going to be sooo strong... no, he screwed up strategically. it would have been better to put up maggie and someone else (april or ivette) then that side would be one less should mini-man come back..... keep james thinking he's safe, let someone else take him out...
Yes? What do YOU want?

Thats what I'm saying, tho- IF Eric DOES come back, Howie and Rach are safe (as safe as anyone) for making the deal with Maggie. Him putting up James was smart b/c
1. He's breaking up that team
2. He's earned the respect of the "other side"
3. He's keeping Maggie safe which will benefit him should Eric come back.
4. If Kayser comes back, then THEIR side will be stronger.
Getting rid of James is the best thing to do- for the whole house. He's too coniving. Sarah will most likely be reduced to a pitiful pile of weeping if James leaves.. so, she most likely won't be a threat.
Even Janelle was playing up to Ivette at the food competition, and earned her respect for playing so hard...
The crazy thing is that no matter what the prediction, it could completely go the other way ...

Haha.. actually, newp
I just want there to be lotsa drama. If Sarah goes, James'll be mad, and he'll seek vengeance. If Ivette goes, then its back to James and Sarah vs. The House.. blah- too predictable. Besides, it'll be nice for her to get away from James. She's too good for him. He's a louse. She needs to see what he's been saying, what he's done, and how he really is.
