Just go to the local animal shelter, pick one out and "adopt" it! It usuall ycost between $20 and $40 and they all come spayed or neutered. Declawing is an additional $50 to $60.. but you don't want to do that right away- OR if the cat will be outside. (Thats their defense mechanism)
well thats not bad...yeah I dont want the cat outside because of fleas and stuff...but the declawing is really so he/she wont scratch the baby and my furniture up...do they "spray" a lot??
Not after being spayed/neutered. Generally after that, they are pretty laid back. You can lspend some time with them when you go to the shelter- pick out a "family" cat- mild mannered and such.
alaska, make sure you check w/base housing too. sometimes they have rules about what kind of pet & how many (if any) you can have.
yeah I will do that...I dont think they have rules on pets here...but I will check...the new base housing now does not have carpet on the first floor...makes it nice for those pet accidents and kid accidents..
