Question??...are the virus' that could be in your computer still their after a reformat?? :?: :?:

yes, some virii reside in the master boot record (MBR) to clean the mbr, use a reformat tool that does the job properly, the one that comes with windows installation cd's perform a low level format i think and do not touch the mbr, as a result virii can remain.

one would expect a dos style attack on the mbr: format /mbr or fdisk /mbr (can't remember which sorry :oops: ) to be what you need, just remember to format all other partitions before doing the mbr...

hmm...where can i get one of those...my msn is knocked out yet again...but this time im still able to accaess Google from a different site...lol....pick up Avast AV ....it does the trick i guess found a few bugs already ,...damn bugs...grrr :evil: :evil: :evil: :evil:

you got a new hard drive i presume doggie???...Im about due....mine is olddddd...although this western digital hard driive has given me less problems and lasted almost three times longer than my maxtor hard drive did,,and they say maxtors the best...haaa...what a F****** joke that is

nothing wrong with Maxtor :? My 'puter has 2x60GB. Oh and an 80GB that the nice people at Seagate sent me as a replacement for my fuxored 20GB :p

IBM hard drives on the other hand..... big pile of poo, my 40GB wont be a master on a 'puter running Windows

20GB's?...I didnt even know that they made them that small anymore
