Doggy, before you go and format, test your outlook express files either on another computer, or create another profile on your existing computer and import the messages in to that one just to make sure you get all attachments etc.

I change the filenames as soon as I get them. Hollar at me what you need and I'll get them to you if I have them

File>Import and Export>Next>Export Favorites

it saves it to a bookmark.htm file in your MyDocuments folder

Is there a way I can somehow save serials and registration info?

Like can I save the registry entries with regcleaner or somehow display the serial from a program and write it down?
I even have a few programs that I actually paid for or updated and I don't even have that info anymore.
