if you are offered a job but you are waiting to hear from another job that you would actually like more, but you don't want to blow the offer because it is better than nothing and you have a new interview scheduled?

Think I'll just say yes, but I can't come in til next week and in the meantime if the other guy calls I can always say "Sorry" Right?

I like your first idea of not being available to interview for a week.

That gives the job you really want the opportunity to contact you and yet you don't actually end up with nothing if they don't.

I got the job I wanted. I just kept saying yes to both until it got down to them wanting me to show up, then I had to tell them No Thanks. I did it the chicken shit way voicemail after hours.
