Well from what I've been told the movie doesn't campare to the book.

Saying that I haven't read the book. Which in my mind enabled me to really enjoy this movie.

So I give the movie a couple of thumbs up.

But for those of you who have read the book there may be a few things left out of the movie.

there almost always are things left out when a book is made into a movie. and i try to keep that in mind when i see a movie that derived from a book.

looking forward to seeing it, but having read the book, i am sure there are TONS of things that are changed or left out. it's a GREAT book btw if you ever want to read it.

Bah you can't compare movies to books. I watch a lot of movies and i read tons, but i never go into a screenplay adaptation of a book thinking that i will get as much out of it.

Books focus on the emotional aspects of the story, whilst films dwell on the more visual side, for obvious reasons.

Its a real good book btw... :D

I was just trying to convey that if you have already read the book the movie may dissappoint you.

I saw this the other night, and as far as I can remember, it sticks pretty close to the book. There are a FEW descrepancies (but there always are when a book becomes a movie), like in the book Chris was NOT the professor's son. And in the end, what happens to Donenger, it was a bit different in the book but they couldn't do it exactly like the book because if you hadn't read the book you wouldn't have understood it. Overall, it was pretty good and I give it *** 3 out of 4 stars!
