ok, first, it's not that i don't like her music (if it IS hers) or m&m either. i HAVE listened to both of them and have formed my view of them having no talent from that, not what others have said. and to address the "getting thousands to buy their CD's and go to their concerts" its ALL about marketing & PR. there are literally THOUSANDS of bands and artists out there 100x's better than brittney and m&m who you will NEVER hear b/c they don't have a manager/talent rep/agent/pr guy. and i could care less if anyone agrees with me or not. i still say she (brittney) is an no-talent madonna-wanna-be.

I completely agree with you Merideth......... with the right people behind the product you can market and sell pretty much anything.
Having said that I have never downloaded a Britney Spears song and most likely never will

I have however downloaded pretty much everything else there is to offer........... even when I didn't want it.
I still make purchases as I would do if the internet didn't exist........... the only difference is that if I couldn't find everything online I would have made a few purchases that I would later regret. By law I am within my rights to return these purchases if I am not happy with them................ unfortunately I was always too lazy to go back to HMV to return the dissapointing CD I purchased a few days before.
Filesharing allows me to check stuff out before I buy them......and saves me the trouble of searching through all my pockets for some crumpled receipt and spending more money on travelling to the place where I purchased the product that didn't live up to my expectations in the first place............. blah blah

As Putzy said.............. most of this shit I just check out once and disgard.
Should I have to pay for the priveledge of sampling a piece of shit that is of no interest to me?
Surely by marketing a turd as a jewel in the first place is stealing from those you have hoodwinked.

Whatever............. I don't get paid enough anyway
