The reason that T and I say things like this about THEM is because we work with them, know them and have been intermingled into their lifestyle for years. Unless you have some very American Hindu friends- and by that I mean that they partake in no rituals of India and therefore do not own the "fragrance that is Hindu- you should be able to identify with the mocking, ethnically profiling thread. If not, then perhaps you should check out the nearest 7-11 (maybe you still have Pantries in NC?) Or better yet, find a few of the local "mom and pops" motels in the area. :tehe: You should be able to find at least 7 out of 10 will be owned by Hindus. The "practicing" ones will give off the distinctive aroma. I really mean no disrespect to the Hindus. I find that they are very business oriented and the most have been very friendly- this thread has nothing to do with the "race" in general. Just the couple in the original post. And that was made in mock hatred- cause I know that he doesn't really HATE them.

I believe that T has a probels, wtih authority figures. It wouldn't matter if they were hindu, buddhist or catholic. He would mock them and resent their power over him.

I have had many authorative figures in my life - MOST of whom I've admired.

And storm, I wouldn't call spending at least a third of my life these last 6 years a "complete lack of tolerance".....quite the contrary, wouldn't you think?

I have to agree with Vertigo. We have a Hindu family that lives above us and I have to say that there is an unusual smell that kinda lingers in the stairwell.
And my experience with them is that they are not very respectful of their neighbors...not just my family.
But they do have a very strong work ethic...the males work almost from sunrise to sunset.
